1957 Pontiac Chieftan
| August 7, 2008
Jay, I would like to share my other ride with you.I recently submitted a picture of my '59
red Impala. This Pontiac was a labor of love. 455 Tri power, B&M Hydromatic 4-speed, Power Steering,Centerline wheels, dualexhaust,Flowmasters, Lowered, shaved, nosed, and decked. Runs and sounds awesome. I think it looks good too! My husbands
father owned a Pontiac dealership in the late '40's and all of the '50's. My husband graduated in 1957. He wanted to drive a '57 Pontiac to his 40th high school class reunion. We found this car in 1986 parked on a neighborhood street. My
husband convinced the college kid that was driving it that he should be driving a Volkswagon
and my husband should have this car. He made the
deal. We bought it for $1,300.00. About 30k later
here I am. My husband and I did all of the work. He did get to drive it to his reunion but passed away 3 years later. That has been 8 years ago. I have regular maintenance done on both cars(Impala & Chieftan) and drive and show them during the summer. I love it. I belong to a wonderful car club and they help me when I need it. Thanks for letting me share my pictures and story.
