1922 Ford Depot Hack
| August 1, 2008
Although this car is registered as a 1922 Ford, most of it is hand built by myself and my stepfather. My stepfather started this car in 1974 for use as a parade vehicle in the 1976 bicentennial parade however after missing that date he left it unfinished. He gave it to me after many years of pestering on my part and I decided that it was just too tame. Out went the chassis including the anemic engine and in went a custom C channel frame with a Jaguar 4.2 litre mill and model A suspenion bits. The body is made almost entirely of quarter sawn oak and looks pretty good for being 34+ years old. The exhaust is modeled after a WWI Liberty engine and the interior of the car also has an aircraft feel to it. This car has provided many years of fun for our family and I hope to pass it on to my son one day.
Thanks for letting me share.
